TomSongs exists to write, produce and publish original music. Projects for radio, film, television and online distribution continue to keep the lights on in my Colorado studio but my first love has never changed - the craft of songwriting and music production. I continue to learn this craft every day and with every lyric I write. Lately, my work includes developing, producing and publishing a small roster of talented writers and artists.
My 2021 Release - Boneyard
My songs have traveled the globe since launching TomSongs 26 years ago in my tiny bedroom studio near Los Angeles. One song in particular, Since September, has been downloaded played and shared in 160 countries since 2002. From local open mic nights and studio session work to recording and publishing deals and national touring, I have enjoyed learning this business , one song at a time, along the way. For nearly three decades with BMI and GRAMMY, (and thanks to my friends from the GRAMMY Producers and Engineers Wing) , I have exchanged ideas with some of our greatest songwriters, musicians, engineers, producers and performers. Thanks to the legendary Paul Williams, I recently created my ASCAP Publishing company. I continue to learn every day from great writers and producers through their guidance and their timeless contributions.
My primary mission is to create and present great music for mass consumption. I receive messages and offers to collaborate and I try to keep up with email and phone inquiries as I am always on the lookout for the next great musical idea or artist. Please be patient! I remember the song pitches, auditions and submissions too. I once delivered a pizza to Capitol Records A&R with my cassette demo and lyric sheet in a ziploc bag under the pie. Yes, the song was absolutely rejected - but they thanked me for the pizza.
I will return all messages as soon as possible.
In most cases, I can offer an idea or a connection within my network to assist others as they navigate this business. I have presented two excellent artists for GRAMMY nominations during the past five years. They had both reached a point in their development that they simply required a few introductions to the right people and companies. I will keep my ears out for unique talent as I work to complete my next commercial release.
Thank you for listening and I look forward to hearing your music along this journey. TC
